What you need to know about Botox
Botox Treatment
Wrinkles mostly appear where the facial expression is strongest. By injecting Botox into the muscles, the face relaxes and they contract less. This makes the skin smoother and wrinkles are barely visible. It tries to preserve the natural appearance of the face, making it look younger and softer. In one treatment, you can look 5 years younger and gain a bright facial expression.

Which wrinkles are treated with Botox?
Wrinkle areas suitable for Botox treatment are:
Forehead Wrinkle
Do you squint regularly or raise your eyebrows? There is a possibility that you may have wrinkles on your forehead. These are the lines on your skin that do not disappear due to regular folding and aging. Botox allows the muscles to relax, softening and even disappearing wrinkles. This gives your face a fresh and open look again.
Frowning
Vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows are called glabellar lines. These frown lines appear when you are angry or looking at the sun. However, frowning can give an unwanted, persistent, anxious or angry look. Botox eliminates the grumpy appearance and your face looks younger and friendlier.
Wrinkle around the eye
They are near your eyes and you get them by laughing a lot, among other things. They are undoubtedly fascinating wrinkles, but they can be deeper and more. As the skin loses its elasticity with aging, these wrinkles become permanently visible, just like frowning and forehead wrinkles. Botox treatment offers a solution.
Excessive Underarm Sweating
Underarm sweat and large sweat stains on your clothes can be particularly annoying and even embarrassing. It’s so embarrassing that you don’t wear your jacket or suit jacket despite the heat. Do you raise your arms spontaneously? With Botox treatment, sweat production decreases by 95% within 2 weeks.
Headache or Migraine?
If you have tension-type headaches or migraines, try botox treatment. Studies show that 70% of people with migraine and other headache complaints benefit from it. The exact causes of most forms of headaches are unknown, but there are indications that increased muscle tension plays a role. Botox actually reduces or eliminates complaints by relaxing the muscles.
Baby Botox: Popular Treatment
Baby botox can be seen as a ‘mild’ version of botox. A natural result is obtained by injecting a lower dose of botulinum toxin with baby botox. Baby botox is generally used preventively, to prevent the increase or deepening of wrinkles. Wrinkles do not fade or disappear, while the treatment is barely visible. The effect of Baby Botox is shorter than the normal Botox treatment. Baby Botox is also used in the treatment of eyebrow lifting and gum smile.
The doctor will prepare a personal treatment plan with you so that you are informed beforehand about the options and the expected outcome.
If you decide to seek treatment, you will receive botulinum toxin, a natural protein that has been used in medicine for decades. It is injected in a very diluted form and therefore has no adverse effects on your health.
Natural Protein
Our anti-wrinkle agent is a natural protein derived from the bacteria clostridium botulinum. This protein has the unique property of being able to relax muscles. It provides a solution when you suffer from spasms or other unwanted muscle tension. Botox has been used by neurologists and rehabilitation physicians for over 40 years.
Botulinum toxin is biodegradable and leaves your body alone. After a few months, muscle activity completely recovers. The injectables we use to remove frown lines, crow’s feet or forehead wrinkles are only from premium brands of the highest quality.
The effect of Botox treatment is temporary and lasts for 5 to 6 months. If you don’t want your wrinkles to come back, we recommend making a new appointment. With regular practice, you will notice extended periods between treatments.
We know Botox mainly from injectable applications. This possibility was discovered by chance. Doctors who treated a woman with eyelid spasm with botox were surprised to see its beneficial effect on wrinkles. Wrinkles are formed by using our facial muscles too much. Loosen muscles, reduce (85-95%) or eliminate wrinkles with Botox.
Ultra Fine Needle
Botox is injected in extremely small quantities and is highly diluted with an ultra-fine needle. It’s not a very pleasant feeling, but certainly not painful (waxing your upper lip or plucking your eyebrows is worse). After treatment, you can go to work, to the city or to a party. It has few or no side effects.
Aesthetic use of botox since 1995 Since 1995, the use of botox for aesthetic purposes has increased dramatically around the world. Today, wrinkle treatment is as common as a visit to the hairdresser.
After about 2 weeks, the effect becomes optimal and your skin becomes progressively smoother.
We roughly divide the face into two ‘wrinkle halves’: Wrinkles in the upper half of the face are treated with Botox, wrinkles in the lower half are treated with temporary fillers.
What can I expect from Botox treatment?
Botox treatment is quick and easy and takes 5 to 10 minutes in total. Of course, we will take time for you and explain in advance how the treatment went. The doctor will also ask you to make several kinds of facial expressions first so that he can see how the muscles in your face are working.
It injects Botox with an extremely fine needle into the muscles to be treated. This is almost painless (no anesthetic really needed). After treatment, you can do whatever you normally do.
It is important to use the muscles for the first two to four hours after treatment. This may mean, for example, that you have to laugh a lot or frown. We do not recommend lying down or bending over and keeping your head up for the first few hours. We also recommend not to apply any cream or make-up for the first 1 hour after the treatment. It is also wise not to apply pressure and massage the face for the first few days. The effect becomes visible after five to ten days. This takes about 5 to 6 months. We recommend that you seek a new treatment to maintain the effect.
What are the side effects?
Really unpleasant side effects from Botox, if any, are rare. Some mild reactions such as redness, mild swelling, itching, bruising and mild tenderness may occur after treatment. Usually the reactions are mild and disappear within an hour.
However, the occurrence of an undesirable reaction can never be completely excluded. For example, sometimes an eyebrow can go down a bit. However, these are temporary effects that will pass by themselves. Infections are also rare.
Botox should not be used in pregnant women, lactating women, and people with muscle weakness, breathing or swallowing problems.
