LASER LIPO FOR MEN
Liposuction is one of the most applied cosmetic procedures in the world. It is estimated that more than 400,000 liposuction surgeries are performed each year in North America alone.
As medical device technology develops, new techniques are emerging to increase the safety, effectiveness and results of procedures.
In October 2006, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), the US regulatory agency, approved the use of the Nd: Yag laser for liposuction surgery. The main disadvantages of traditional liposuction are bruises (bruises), healing time and sagging skin. Laser liposuction aims to prevent these situations.
Although liposuction is a more common procedure for women, there is an increase in the number of operations performed on men every year. The main areas where men perform liposuction are the abdomen and chest.
In order to get an ideal result after liposuction, the skin of the region should be subjected to retraction. As laser lipo , the laser process stimulates collagen production that promotes the development of skin sagging, a process of neocolagenesis.
Laser lipo can be performed under local anesthesia, block or general anesthesia. The choice of anesthesia type depends on the extent of liposuction and where the patient wishes to remove localized fat. Compressing mesh and lymphatic drainage sessions are recommended for several weeks after surgery. Physical exercise should be avoided for two to three weeks.
The most common places where liposuction is performed in men are the abdomen and breast, where the fat tissue is more fibrous. Traditional liposuction tends to be more traumatic in these areas due to its local characteristics. Laser lipo in these areas will have the advantage of laser to promote lipolysis and facilitate the removal of fat from these more fibrous areas. The laser peak energy promotes an acoustic effect that destroys the fat cell membrane. Additionally, the laser aids in hemostasis by promoting the coagulation of micro blood vessels and reduces the appearance of purple spots.
For all these reasons, laser lipo is an excellent option for removing localized fat that is resistant to diet and physical activity, especially where adipose tissue is more fibrous.
