Fue (Follicular Unit Extraction) method is one of the best methods used in hair transplantation. DHI (Direct Hair Implant) hair transplantation method is a new technique developed within the framework of FUE hair transplantation method.

This technique is also known as « Pen Method » or « Direct Hair Transplantation ». DHI, which is the most preferred method of recent years, is the transplantation of quality grafts (hair follicles), taken from donor areas directly by specialists with the help of special pens (choi pen) without waiting too long and without cutting or opening channels, in the area to be transplanted. In other known hair transplant methods, these operations are performed in two separate times while in DHI method, both can be done in one go, thanks to the special pen used.

How is the DHI Technique Applied?

First of all, a few examinations are performed before the operation in order to apply the correct operation in a healthy way. Features such as the structure and quality of the hair and hair follicles to be taken from donor areas are learned with the help of this device.

Then, after a few tests, the results are sent to our specialist doctor and the operation is started after the hair transplantation is approved. How Does The Healing Process Proceed After DHI Hair Transplantation?

With DHI hair transplantation, which is one of the most preferred hair transplant methods of recent times, the focus is on the gaps between the hair without any surgical procedure on the hair roots and the existing hair is not damaged. Therefore, compared to other hair transplant techniques, improvement is often observed in a shorter time in the DHI technique. Since there is no canal opening, crusting occurs for 5-6 days after the operation, and it takes about 20 days for the crusts to shed and heal.

In every hair transplant method, conditions such as crusting, redness or edema can be seen, and this is quite normal. Antibiotics and other drugs are given to the patient for 1 week after the operation, and these drugs should be used by the patient without interruption. The period of 1 month after the operation is the period when the hair loss process begins in hair transplantation. After about two weeks, spills begin and continue for a while.

This situation occurs because the hair at the ends of the newly transplanted follicles cannot be nourished sufficiently during the adaptation period of a few days and is exposed to air flow. But shedding does not happen to everyone. These spills can vary depending on the person. All or some parts of the hair may fall out and this is considered a completely normal process.

By the third month, the transplanted new hair begins to grow slowly and shows itself on the skin. Six months after the operation, at least half of the new hair grows, that is, half of the process is completed for the patient. It takes an approximately a year to reach the final result in hair transplantation.
